Announcing Gerry Pond as moderator for Investing Close to Home

The Community Foundation of Nova Scotia is delighted that Mariner Partners co-founder Gerry Pond will be moderating our upcoming Inspired Conversation – Investing Close to Home: Philanthropy, Entrepreneurship and the Courage to lead with tech multimillionaire Zita Cobb.

As CEO of NBTel and President of Aliant Telecom, Mr. Pond provided a decade of innovative leadership that transformed NBTel into an international information and communications technology powerhouse.

Mr. Pond has also co-founded a number of successful ICT start-ups in Atlantic Canada including iMagicTV, Q1 Labs, Brovada Technologies, Radian6, Shift Energy and Cirrus9. As a proven innovator in ICT, Mr. Pond is the Co-Founder of Propel ICT, a start-up accelerator, and East Valley Ventures, an advanced accelerator for Atlantic Canadian start-up companies with a mission of helping passionate Atlantic Canadian entrepreneurs launch meaningful and enduring technology companies. There are currently over 30 companies connected to East Valley Ventures.

Recognized for his relentless contributions to Eastern Canada’s economic development, Mr. Pond has been inducted into the New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame (2007), received the Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian Award for New Brunswick (2012) and been awarded the Order of New Brunswick (2013).
