Sponsorship is a powerful concept in the corporate world, surpassing mentorship in its ability to boost career growth and development for women. Yet, sponsorship is talked about significantly less amongst entrepreneurs.

You have mentors; why not sponsors?

In the corporate world, sponsors tend to be several career levels above the protege, carrying political clout and influence to help the protege get promotions and visibility. They differ from mentors, who tend to focus on giving advice and feedback. In the entrepreneurial world, a sponsor could be an investor, a client, a contact in a trade association and so on. These people vouch for you with investors, connect you to speak at influential conferences and introduce you to potential partners. For entrepreneurs, sponsors can significantly propel their businesses.

So, how do you find a sponsor, and how do you nurture the relationship?

During this 60-min virtual workshop, participants will:

• Learn about the benefits of having a strategic network
• Complete an ‘audit’ of their current networks (including profiles of the 5 key components) - Identify potential sponsors (or key characteristics to look for)
• Understand how to best nurture the relationship
