Few weeks ago with Entrepreneur’s Forum and Fundica are announced that the 2014 Funding Roadshow will be stopping in Halifax. The Funding Roadshow gives start- ups and SMEs the opportunity to pitch to a panel of private investors and public funders.

What to Expect? In each of the 10 cities – 20 entrepreneurs will pitch to a panel of 8 funders in each city. The panel will include a mix of venture capitalists, angel investors, government organizations and private lenders.

Location and Date in Halifax The Halifax stop will be hosted at Volta Labs (5415 Spring Garden Rd.) on April 17th.

Each team of entrepreneurs will be assigned a time between 9:00 am and 4:30pm, to be followed by an evening networking event.

Eligible entrepreneurs: strong technological component to their business

Stream 1 – Early Stage Startups, young entrepreneurs (max. 10 companies per city)

Stream 2 – Startups and SMEs (max. 10 companies)  All ages,  Revenues >$150,000,  Strong technology component, Seeking strong revenue growth (>50% in upcoming year)

Prizes

On top of funding received, the winning pitch entrepreneur in each city will receive round-trip airfare and an opportunity to pitch in front of VCs in San Francisco, a $12,000-value hosting package (courtesy of CANARIE) and a $4,000 value R&D tax credit financing solution (courtesy of R&D Capital). More prizes are to be added.
