Through various joint initiatives, events and access to technology, this partnership aims to bring the Microsoft for Startups program, expertise and resources to the Volta community.

“Volta is a pillar of support for startups in eastern Canada, helping local companies connect with the resources they need to scale,” said Adam Nanjee, Managing Director, Microsoft for Startups Canada. “We look forward to working with them to support, build and accelerate the startup community in Halifax and across Atlantic Canada.”

This collaboration will leverage Volta and Microsoft for Startups’ shared goal of nurturing and growing the startup ecosystem in Atlantic Canada with specific events and programming tailored to the community, such as expert-led Lunch + Learn sessions, Microsoft for Startup office hours, initiatives focused on diversity, inclusion and underrepresented founders, as well as custom bespoke events focusing on artificial intelligence and AI for good.

“At Volta, we are always looking at ways to enhance our program and event offerings, and this new partnership with Microsoft for Startups will serve as an excellent new resource for our startup community,” said Jesse Rodgers, Chief Executive Officer at Volta. “As our companies continue to grow and reach global markets, we are thrilled they will have access to the hugely beneficial programming Microsoft for Startups has to offer.”

This partnership will also deliver the benefits of the Microsoft for Startups offer to eligible Volta Residents, including up to $120,000 in free Azure credits, as well as enterprise-grade technical support and development tools. Dedicated resources will be available to prepare marketing and sales teams to effectively sell their cloud solutions to enterprise organizations in partnership with Microsoft’s global sales organization and partner ecosystem.
