Volta to hold first Startup Empire conference on September 23rd in Halifax.

Industry thought leaders such as Don Harrison, John Baker, Michael Litt and others will help companies determine what stage in the startup life-cycle they are at and how to move forward.

Halifax, NS – Volta, a Halifax startup house, announced today their plans for a startup conference that will, according to the Executive Director Milan Vrekic, “Draw all promising Atlantic Canadian startups to one spot, where they can learn from speakers how to grow and scale their companies.”

Organizers expect that the limited number of tickets and a low price will cause the conference to sell out quickly. This one-day conference will be held at the Cineplex Theatre in Park Lane Mall on Spring Garden Road and will feature names such as Don Harrison, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Google Inc, John Baker, President and CEO of Waterloo based Desire2Learn and one of the fastest-growing Canadian ICT companies, Michael Litt a Y Combinator Alumni and Vidyard CEO, as well as many other high-caliber speakers.

“We wanted to bring speakers from other regions that can benefit our companies in the long run. Aside from having these people transfer their knowledge and lessons-learned, we want to build bridges between other regions and Atlantic Canada” Said Jevon MacDonald, Volta board member and co-founder.
