The Volta Travel Program supports start-up companies to travel to the US with the goal of generating foreign investment, building linkages with US based investors and Entrepreneurs and bring best-practices learnings back to Atlantic Canada. Each successful candidate will receive 75% of their travel costs covered by Volta, with a maximum of $5000.

So far three companies have taken advantage of this program. All of them have said they felt that the experience was very beneficial to their company’s presence and knowledge. Thomas Rankin co-founder of Dash Hudson went to New York through the Volta Travel Program in 2013 where he was able to accomplish key meeting with partners, investors and media. Thomas says “that at a time when resources are tight, it enabled us to achieve critical milestones ahead of our public launch.”

Application will be accepted between April 15th and April 29th, 2014! So get your application in now!

This program is available for every Nova Scotia startup company, that is building a product (service and consulting companies are not eligible), has less than 10 employees, have been in business for less than 3 years and have raised less than $250,000 in funding.
