Volta launches new program for AI-enabled supply chain companies
Volta, Canada’s East Coast Innovation Hub, has launched Volta AI, a new program that provides eligible artificial intelligence supply chain-focused companies access to funding, programming, workshops, consulting and global events to scale.
Volta AI will help accelerate the growth of new ventures by augmenting existing resources and building new programming that founders can capitalize on. The program will attract more AI supply chain focused ventures to the Atlantic Canadian ecosystem and provide them with the required connections and support to create added value for their venture.
Applications will be accepted until Nov. 23 at 11:59pm. Select participants will be invited to attend workshops remotely via Zoom, and sessions will begin in early January 2021.
“We are very excited to launch this new program in collaboration with Scale AI, to continue to expand our ecosystem, diversify our programming and provide connections and networking opportunities for our regional startup community,” said Martha Casey, Chief Executive Officer at Volta. “Volta AI will do this by providing participants with access to experts and investors in the AI space, and providing companies funding to help them grow their venture.”
Five companies will be selected to participate in the year-long cohort, with up to $14,000 to spend over the course of the year on offerings and services that will help them scale. All companies will be required to have regular communication with the Volta team, who will facilitate the program and ensure companies remain accountable.
“Fostering the emergence of an industrial sector and building a new ecosystem require interventions at every stage of the value-creation chain. We are committed to help the entire network of incubators and accelerators creating and developing links between AI startups and the business community in order to fully realize our mission of economic leverage,” said Julien Billot, Chief Executive Officer at Scale AI.
To qualify for this program, companies must meet specific eligibility requirements, which include, but are not limited to being based and operating in Canada; having a focus on applied AI and intelligent supply chain products and/or services; it must demonstrate evidence of customer interest and traction – among other requirements.
