Volta hosts We Start Tech event
Dalhousie Women in Technology Society exists to support, promote, and celebrate female students pursuing or considering a degree within Dalhousie’s Technology related programs; to participate in existing programs such as open houses, CS Day, Supernova; and to introduce technology related programs to eligible females.
Volta hosted this year’s spring We Start Tech event, which is a networking event for people in IT from industry and academia. The evening began with a reception, followed by a startup mixer and a keynote address by Sreejata Chatterjee (Co-Founder and CPO of LeadSift). The event also featured Pixel’s Ian Earle, giving guests a candid snapshot of being a Student Entrepreneur, and a BizSpark presentation by Sage Franch on how industry leaders can nurture startups.
At the end of the night, guests were excited to receive door prizes based on a random draw, including three Visa gift cards provided by the Dalhousie Computer Science department.
