Volta and the Rideau Hall Foundation to Host Innovation Conference in Halifax
Volta, in partnership with the Rideau Hall Foundation (RHF), will lead Innovate Atlantic, a one-day innovation-focused conference on Nov. 5, 2018 at Pier 21 in Halifax. Innovate Atlantic will feature panels and keynotes that aim to provide attendees with the inspiration and insight they need to develop innovative Atlantic Canadian companies and drive economic growth.
“Innovation is more than developing high tech products, it’s about leveraging a growth mindset and adopting methodologies that create opportunities,” said Jesse Rodgers, Chief Executive Officer of Volta. “Innovate Atlantic will provide the inspiration, tools and information to inspire attendees to take advantage of the momentum building in Canada around a maturing ecosystem of entrepreneurs and innovators.”

Sessions will include high-level ecosystem development discussions, and tactical-level presentations on resources and innovative policy approaches. A series of panels will cover topics like the role dense clusters of entrepreneurs play, education and developing skills for the future, finding opportunities and building awareness, and more.
The conference’s speakers and panelists include the Honourable Kevin Lynch, Vice-Chair, BMO Financial Group, the Honourable Kevin G. Lynch; Fiona Murray, Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Associate Dean for Innovation and Co-Director of MIT’s Innovation Initiative, Fiona Murray; John Risley, President of CFFI Ventures Inc., John Risley; and Scott Mabury, Vice President University Operations, University of Toronto, Scott Mabury.
