Building on the success of our March Break Digital Discovery Camp, Digital Nova Scotia and Discovery Centre are leading two week-long Digital Discovery Camps this summer! Digital Discovery Camp is perfect for budding tech enthusiasts, problem solvers, coders, and video gamers. Catering to youth ages 10-15, Digital Discovery Camp will encourage curiosity in technology and innovation, all while increasing confidence in technology skills and supporting collaboration with peers.
Campers can expect to learn more about robotics including simple programming skills using LEGO NXT technology and new Lego EV3 models. They will also take apart advanced devices, deconstruct a computer and learn what goes into the framework by participating in a soldering workshop. Participants will see first-hand the transformation from a digital image to a 3D model using specialized printers. As well, gamers will be excited to create their own characters and storylines while learning the keys to game development concepts.
Support from local industry also drives Digital Discovery Camp. Campers will tour and learn from local animation and video game studios, Volta Labs Start-up House, and more! As the fastest growing sector in the province, the ICT and digital technologies industry is multi-faceted, extremely colourful and diverse with respect to its breadth of innovation, talent, and career opportunities.
