Volta’s Women Taking over the World with Tech (WTWT) Pitch Competition, supported by RBC, is for female founders and entrepreneurs in Volta’s network and the Atlantic Canadian tech community. Unlike Volta’s quarterly Pitch Competitions, this competition will only be open to female founders and entrepreneurs. You do not have to be a regular attendee of WTWT Events to pitch. The next WTWT Pitch Competition will take place on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 5:30pm.
This event is meant to provide an opportunity for women in the tech industry to practice a business pitch and get feedback from peers and industry professionals in an encouraging setting. The competition will consist of a judging panel comprised of entrepreneurs, potential investors and community leaders. Judging will be based both on the pitch, and the business idea and will also focus on presentation quality and content.
Anyone is encouraged to attend and watch the pitching in action – please RSVP on Eventbrite. Light refreshments will be served.
- First place – $500 Visa gift card
- Second place – $250 Visa gift card
- Third place – $100 Visa gift card
AND, the top three winners will walk away with a one-year membership to the Centre for Women in Business.
Applications will be assessed based on the originality of the idea/company, the description submitted, and the overall calibre of information provided in the application. Given that both Volta and its WTWT Program focuses on the technology sector, ideas/companies focused on this sector will be given priority.
